We are proud to have received a grant from the Delaware Bar Foundation to help our English language learners receive high-quality virtual and in-person English language instruction, English fluency, and citizenship education. This project advances the Delaware Bar Association’s mission of fostering knowledge of citizenship rights and responsibilities and increasing adult literacy learners' ability to navigate the citizenship process successfully.
Many Delaware residents, particularly immigrants and aspiring citizens, face significant barriers to understanding public systems, exercising their rights, and fulfilling civic responsibilities due to limited English proficiency and limited access to reliable citizenship education. These challenges impact families striving to achieve citizenship, effectively support their children’s education, manage healthcare needs, and navigate government and community services.
Funding from this grant will support citizenship preparation and English language instruction, program expenses, and citizenship preparation curriculum.
