The Blood Bank of Delmarva will have their specialized staff on hand to provide collection services and we have some special giveaways for every eligible donor.

Donating blood is pretty simple and has a great impact. Did you know:

• Nine out of 10 individuals will need blood or a blood product at some time in our lives. And one out of every 10 hospital patients require a transfusion. Although the average transfusion is three pints, some patients require more.
• Donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in general good health.
• The actual donation takes about 5 minutes. The entire donation process, from registration to post-donation refreshments, takes about one hour.
